You get 8 weeks off
Nov 23, 2024Every real estate agent can take 8 weeks off - a week or so in January, a week in the spring, one to three weeks in summer, Thanksgiving week, and a couple weeks in December. This is one of those 8 weeks!
Sure, if you have deals to negotiate, buyers to show - I get it. Maybe you give away pies, or some other client facing activities.
Otherwise, TAKE THE WEEK OFF!
Schedule the stuff you must take care of and then shut your phone off! Go be with your family, or take some quiet time.
Most people take the week off, so you should too! Be off when you can!
When you come back on Monday, BE AT WORK! On Monday, December 2nd, you have TWO WEEKS to get your S$%T together! Maybe three. Make your contacts, finish your business plan, wrap up loose ends, and clean up messes.
If I were you, I would spend the week of 12/2 and 12/9 calling all the people in your database that you are going to call. There are no “shoulds” here - call the people you are going to call, see the people you are going to see, and then turn it off.
BTW: if there are people in your database you aren’t going to call...I invite you to answer this question: why are they in there? If you aren’t going to call them, what are the odds that they will call you???
I suspect the week of 12/16 many agents will begin the 1st of 3 weeks off. Well, that’s not true - there are agents who already aren’t working - yet they also aren’t “off” - they are stuck in that no-man’s land between “should I work” or “should I be off?” Don’t be one of those people - work when you are going to work, and be off when you are off!

I could have written today about "being grateful." I could have sent a “Happy Thanksgiving” email that would be totally insincere and inauthentic (I don’t recommend sending those). Instead, I am simply going to say THANK YOU for reading these emails. You have a lot of things vying for your attention and I don’t take it lightly that occasionally you spend a few minutes with me.
