No one likes the truth

“The truth is like poetry, and most people f$%ing hate poetry.”
— from the opening scene in The Big Short - Overheard at a Washington DC bar
Real estate is very, very, very, very, very, simple: talk to people.
Everyone wants to do anything else but that.
If you talk to more people and get better at talking to them, you will absolutely achieve the level of success you dream about. You already know this!
But the odds are you haven’t been doing enough of it, nor are the odds good that you will start doing it.

Good luck...see you next week!
Just kidding.
This past week I had a woman come up to me and say that she knows what to do. She’s had a 40-year career in corporate sales, including as a sales trainer. She told me the key to her real estate success is hiring people to help build out a marketing plan, build her CRM, and get her marketing executed.
She sat through 75+ minutes of me outlining how simple this business is, without spending a lot of money. Then she said - essentially - that she was going to completely ignore everything I just said and spend a bunch of money on stuff that mostly does not work. Nevertheless, she took a book and said she would pay for it later via Venmo after she confirmed the transaction with penny charges.
I know that’s not you, but can you see the 'crazy' in other people (like this person)?
I am going to assume all of you can, but the real question is: what ‘crazy’ are you doing that you can’t see yourself?
(If you are wondering if she ever paid me for the book - the answer is ‘of course not’.)
The point is not about this woman - the point is about us. You and me - we all do silly, crazy stuff that we pretend not to notice. For example, we know what to do but don’t do it and then wonder why we don’t have the results we want! What is it going to take for you to have a breakthrough?
We are now in February. One month gone. Has anything changed in your behavior, commitment, action, or mindset?
If the answer is yes, great! Keep going!
If the answer is no, then what are you going to do about it?
Most people are committed to their current circumstances. See what I mean about truth and poetry?
How committed are you to having different results this year? Time is ticking.
PSA: you do not have 11 months left in the year. There are 12 calendar months, but there are not really 12 months of business. You might have 7 or 8 months left this year - at best. July and August are often a wash for most agents. So is December. November loses a week for Thanksgiving. Plus you have other vacation or circumstances planned or distractions that will take you out for a week - or three. You do not have time to waste! Now is the time!
